Almost Heaven Animal Rescue was established in 2023 after more than a decade of helping abandoned & feral cats, an occasional dog and some struggling families,  give innocent creatures a chance for safe and healthy lives. 

Donna Mathias, an elementary school teacher for 32 years, along with  friends, neighbors and young students, have witnessed the need and the desire for a broader effort.

Everyone associated with AHA Rescue shares a passion for creatures big and small.  We witness daily how innocent cats and dogs throughout the community are suffering from neglect, abandonment and a never ending cycle of new litters and hardship.

With a focus on cats whose population is exploding, we also have compassion for well meaning people who do their best.  We understand that many may lack resources necessary to keep them healthy and safe.

Our mission is to create a community where young and old can experience the joy and accept the responsibility of living with these amazing creatures.  We are committed to saving and enriching the lives of as many animals and their human families as possible.
